Description

The Battle of Chickamauga was the second bloodiest engagement of the Civil War, surpassed only by Gettysburg, with more than 34,000 men, killed, wounded or missing over just two brutal days. The fighting took place along the winding waters of Chickamauga Creek; its name derived from a Cherokee term often translated as “The River of Death”

After the violence and unimaginable bloodshed on that ground, it should come as no surprise that the fields, houses, and forests surrounding Chickamauga are believed by many to be haunted.
